For the next 60 days I will try to stay in an ongoing relationship with God by responding to him every 60 minutes. The foundation of transformation is following after Jesus Christ and living life with him. That means we are to develop a habit of staying in close conscious contact with God.

The Bible is filled with passages to encourage us to make God a part of our everyday lives:

Galatians 5:25, “If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” (NLT)

Ephesians 5:18, “…let the Holy Spirit fill and control you.” (NLT)

Ephesians 6:18, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions…” (NIV)

1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray continually.” (NIV)

Live a life responsive to God. Throughout each day say: “God, you are with me right now. Show me what to do. I want to follow you.” Don’t just pray words. This is about reminders that interrupt our activity enough to invite God to participate in our lives. Use a timer on a watch and sticky notes throughout your house and office to prompt you. Whether you are stuck in traffic, feeling overwhelmed trying to crank out a project for a deadline at work, or getting angry at another person, invite God into your situation at that moment. We talk to ourselves anyway. We might as well include God in our conversations!
